admin Lane Bryant has been coming out with a slew of empowering, body-positive ad campaigns as of late and tapping awesome ladies like the talented Gabourey Sidibe to represent as their spokeswomen. Their latest campaign is no different. A promo for their activewear collection, Livi Active, features Krista Henderson, a plus-size coach and triathlete, and it’s downright inspirational.
Henderson appears in a video posted to Lane Bryant’s website and their Instagram account, in which she’s training hard and sharing a few wise pieces of coaching wisdom. Krista says that she loves participating in triathlons because the variety of sports allows her to conquer something new every day and because triathletes are a particularly encouraging group of people.
“The community is so supportive,” she says in the video. “Everybody knows how hard it is to get to that place, to toe the line, and there’s so much respect and love for everyone who does toe that line.”

Henderson said that she started competing in triathlons after seeing a flier for one at her gym. Upon discovering the flier, she thought, “that would be be hardcore to do…and I want to do one.”
And as if being an athlete and coach wasn’t impressive enough, Krista is also working to provide better information for the multitudes of other plus-size athletes on the web. She founded Born to Reign Athletics, a resource for tools specifically catered to athletes who are plus size.
