While we were celebrating Independence Day over the weekend, David and Victoria Beckham were remembering their wedding anniversary. On July 4, 1999, the lovebirds tied the knot in a glamorous ceremony at Luttrellstown Castle, just outside of Dublin, Ireland. To commemorate the special day, both British stars decided to share rare photos from the romantic event.
Mr. Beckham uploaded a heartwarming post to his Instagram account and wrote underneath it, “Wow 17 years ago to this day this happened…I was lucky to meet someone who has the same drive and wanted the same things in life…We have created 4 beautiful children and I couldn’t wish for a more loving and caring mummy for them…Happy anniversary, I love you.” The throwback picture shows us an intimate moment of David and Victoria holding hands, and it also gives a rare look at the bride’s spectacular dress.
Victoria wore a custom Vera Wang design, and it was fit for a princess. The champagne-colored gown featured a corset bodice that tapered into a 20-foot train. It’s the type of dress you’d never want to get rid of, and the former Spice Girl singer once told British publication Mirror that she’s saving the timeless number for her daughter Harper.
The proud mother and supportive wife also reminisced on the fairy-tale day by posting another flashback picture. In her nostalgic upload, you can see the couple embracing each other with a warm hug, and there is also a close-up look at Victoria’s diamond-encrusted tiara. “I feel so loved and truly blessed,” she wrote in the caption. “My best friend, my love, the kindest man who inspires me every day…Happy Anniversary to the best husband and daddy in the world!! EVER!”
